ABOUT ME
Marilyn Rogers Lock
My story begins in my hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where I was born and raised in a faith-filled home. As a proud “PK” (a pastor’s kid), I grew up surrounded by love, prayer, and a strong foundation of faith.
I was blessed to be part of a large, vibrant twelve-person family. My father and pastor Bishop William Rogers. My mother, the multi-instrumentalist Anna Ruth. And my nine siblings and I are all woven together by faith and togetherness.
I fell in love and married the man of my dreams! I used to only dream of a love like this. I never thought it could actually exist. But against all odds, God gave us each other.
On July 7, 1966, Minister Cal Edward Lock, Sr., a "Pastor's Kid" from Milwaukee, and I married. Our beautiful love resulted in God’s sweetest gifts. We raised five children. Together, we have thirteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, thanks to our grandson Paul.

I am a born-again Christian. God is the source of my faith. Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior of my life. My father was honored with an honorary street sign that reads, "The Honorable Bishop William Rogers," located at 222 East Center Street, Milwaukee, WI 53212 for five blocks. My gorgeous mother's name is Anna Ruth Kerr Rogers. She was a phenomenally talented multi-instrumentalist. I am the fifth child of ten children and the second daughter. Together, my parents had a total of five girls and five boys.

In 1966, I married the Late Minister, Cal Edward Lock, Sr. Early Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), and miscarriages caused us considerable disappointment. However, we were able to raise five wonderful children with the help of the Lord. Lolita Ruth, Howard James, Anita Ruth, Doretha Ruth, and Cal Edward, Lock Jr. Together, we have ten grandsons, three granddaughters, and nine great-grandchildren! Amire, Chloe, Parker, Paul III, Ariana, Apollo, Zayne, Osiah, James II, and Jaxon. To God Be the Glory!
Amazing grace how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now I’m found, was blind but now I see.
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear, the hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come.
‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun.
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise, than when we first begun.
